Have you tried asexuality.org? There's nothing wrong with this group, it's just not as huge as asexuality.org's forums.

Anti-Sex League?

seems I've been lurking here for too long.. and realize I dont fit in here....

would anyone join an anti-seuxal group? to point out the difference... an anti-sexual is someone who has a sex drive but feels sexuality is (to put it bluntly) for "lower lifeforms".

Can't say I would personally, but I'm interested in hearing the theory behind antisexuality. I have to say that it's never quite made sense to me (social constructs AROUND sexuality have their problems, but the act itself doesn't seem like it's got any inherint problems to it worse than, say, soccer [risk of injury, adrenaline, imbues social status, highly physical, etc.])

That seems rather elitist... while I have no sex drive.. I can't imagine having one but not acting on it out of pure superiority to those who do...

Sounds like pure bigotry to me. Besides, if not for sexuality, none of us would be here! I have absolutely no desire to have sex myself, but I'm really glad my parents did, because I'm very happy to be alive.

you may call it "bigotry" but I call it being human... you see.. I"m raging mad that I got this thing that can never be used... and things that have no use just waste space that could be put to a more profitable purpose.. besides... ever since we invented in vitro... sex is rather obsolete.. given we got enough sperm banks to last us until the next Ice Age.

Well, not to be too delicate about it, what do you mean by 'can never be used'? AFAIK, there's at least one use everyone has for what I think you're talking about and it's not sex.

apparently memories are short here... or am I the only one who knows the lesson about power and absolute power?

Sex is a caustic force.. it can either enhance marriages or destroy them. Thus I feel its something that humans are incapable of being trusted with. and the irony is my parents have put me in couseling for being anti-sexual... because they claim I'm "hating women". that only proves they're SAVAGES!

If people can't be trusted with their own sexuality then who can? Sex doesn't make or destroy marraiges, emotional dynamics (whether expressed through sexuality or otherwise) do. Getting two people to live together and trust one another implicitely is going to be tricky regardless of where they put their bodily fluids. If your parents think you hate women then kindly explain (or better yet illustrate) that loving someone and having sex with them have no implicit relation or codependence (do straight men hate all other men?) Show them that sex doesn't matter, not that it's bad.

Well, let's see... I don't have a sex drive to contend with, but I do happen to have migraines. Talk about something that has no use and is a waste of time and life! I hate having migraines. I've tried a lot of things to get rid of migraines, and if I heard about new ways to get rid of migraines, I'd probably be interested in trying more. (I have also elected to *stop* taking a number of different medications, even though they *were* effective in preventing migraines, because they had side effects that I found worse than living with migraines. That kind of puts things in perspective: I would do a lot to get ride of migraines, but there are some things I won't do. If getting rid of migraines means giving up my mental clarity and my verbal coherence, then it's not worth it.)

But much as I hate having migraines, and much as I wish I didn't have them, I've never considered my susceptibility to migraines to make me a lesser form of life than people who are fortunate enough to not have migraines. Nor have I ever thought of fellow migraine sufferers as inferior to people who are free of migraines. I have compassion for other people who share the same misery. Sometimes I've even been able to learn things from other migraine sufferers that have helped me in dealing with my own migraines; and in turn I've been able to pass along information I've found helpful to other people looking for ways to deal with their migraines.

I imagine, also, that if I heard that some people with migraines had found something they could do with their throbbing heads that would change a migraine from a source of pain to a source of pleasure, I would be *very* interested in checking it out! If their solution turned out to be something I could do safely and ethically, then I'd probably try it. Even if I ended up deciding that it wasn't for me, I wouldn't condemn others for doing it, provided they were doing it safely and ethically. (And while there are obviously many unsafe and/or unethical ways to express sexuality, it's also quite possible, and, I think, very common for people to practice safe and ethical sexuality.)

If you're suffering, then I'm sorry for you. But I don't think rejection and hatred, of yourself and of the majority of the human race, is a solution.

it would be both... right now I'm looking for researchers to find ways to eliminate the orgasm so we can wean ppl off sex..

and I never said we would stop having kids.. we still need that... so it would just require legislation to have artificial insemination as the only legal means of reproduction.

Re: [Haven for the Human Amoeba] Anti-Sex League?

Its none of anyone's business if another is having sex in the privacy of their own home. This anti-sex business is nothing more than bigotry and tyranny, looking for ways to oppress people who've done nothing wrong. And no, it isn't wrong for someone to privately do something that disgusts you. If it was right to pass laws eliminating sex, it'd be legal to pass laws controlling pretty much anything we ever do, so I'm glad we don't live in a society that can completely ban sex. I hope anti-sexuals like this don't actually have much welcome here in this club.

Re: [Haven for the Human Amoeba] Anti-Sex League?

You might be on to something with the legislation thing. Why do we have to take tests before we get a job, a drivers license, a college degree... but anyone and everyone can create children. I'm for mandatory legislation regarding who can breed and who can't. There are way too many unwanted children and 'parents' who are ill prepared to raise them. I'm pissed that I have to jump through hoops to get sterilization (i don't want to pass on my genes/illnesses and even if i stay away from sex, there's still the chance of rape.. not a chance i want to take) but i could get knocked up and go get an abortion at the drop of the hat... why? because dr's don't want to sterilize women in light of "you'll change your mind"

So while you might be a closed-minded radical, you have found a portion where I'll agree with you.

Sarae Montgomery We're all mad here!

Are you talking about sexuality, or sexual activity? Or both?

As to your question, I don't think I would, I'm not interested in eradicating humanity or any other species.

it would be both... right now I'm looking for researchers to find ways to eliminate the orgasm so we can wean ppl off sex..

and I never said we would stop having kids.. we still need that... so it would just require legislation to have artificial insemination as the only legal means of reproduction.
